Scott Weinzapfel is a very dedicated and passionate safety professional with an extensive background in motor carrier and public safety, serving for over three decades. He began his career serving the public as a Deputy Sheriff in Lexington County, SC in 1990 and since 1995 has worked in both industry as a safety director at a large motor carrier in Indiana and he then also had several years’ experience serving as a State MCSAP Officer in the state of South Carolina. During his time there he was selected as Transport Police Officer of the Year in 2000 and was also the Grand Champion of the South Carolina State Transport Police Inspector Competition in 2000.
He began his career with FMCSA in January of 2001 as a Safety Investigator in the Kentucky Division and after four years then transferred to the Florida Division. While at FMCSA, and specifically the Florida Division, Scott has trained, coached, and mentored many new Safety Investigators hired by the agency. He also served as a member of the regions HELP Team and National In-Service Team. He participated in the “Quick Strike” initiative in 2013 which focused on unsafe passenger carrier operations that led to the creation of the agencies Enhanced Investigative Techniques processes that were implemented.
Scott was recognized for his commitment to the FMCSA safety mission for his self-initiated Positive Driver Project in 2022 and 2023. During this project Scott took it upon himself to track Florida CDL holders who had tested positive and were operating without having completed the return-to-duty process. During the course of this project Scott prepared numerous Driver Enforcement Cases along with Letters of Disqualifications. Throughout his career he has received several prestigious awards from the agency including the FMCSA Safety Investigator of the Year award in 2011, the Administrators Colleague Award in 2020 and the FMCSA Administrator’s Safety Achievement Award in 2024. All of these well-deserved accolades are a testament to his commitment to safety and demonstrate he is a true safety professional.

Melissa Sprouse Browne brings more than two decades of experience in professional education, real estate, and business leadership to Truck Spy Academy. She has been an integral part of the Real Estate School of South Carolina since 2001, helping lead one of the state’s most established and respected trade schools through curriculum development, regulatory compliance, and long-term operational growth. Her work in licensed, highly regulated education environments is the backbone of Truck Spy Academy’s structured, audit-ready approach—ensuring training programs are practical, professional, and built to withstand real-world scrutiny.
In addition to education, Melissa is a recognized entrepreneur and industry leader. She previously owned Seniors First Home Care and currently owns South Carolina Realty, The Marketing Division, and Cora Care, while also serving as a partner in Redeemed Properties, LLC. Her leadership and performance have earned consistent recognition, including being named one of The State Newspaper’s Top 20 Under 40 Business Leaders in Columbia in 2009, remaining in the top 10 percent of real estate agents in the Midlands of South Carolina since 2020, earning Best of Zillow honors for the past three consecutive years, receiving the Top Sales Agent Award for McGuinn Homes in 2023, and being selected as West Columbia/Cayce Volunteer of the Year in 2019. Together, these accomplishments reflect a career built on credibility, compliance, and results—values she brings directly to Truck Spy Academy and the motor carriers it serves.
